About CBS
The philosophy of CBS, Inc. is to assist individuals with developmental disabilities live in the least restrictive environment and maximize their potential as productive members of society. As such, our primary purpose of the provision of services is to use the least intrusive methodology that enables individuals to live and work in a typical environment. The goals and objectives of CBS are to address the needs of children and adults with developmental disabilities who exhibit behavioral excesses and deficits that may interfere with learning and impede their quality of life. CBS, Inc. accomplishes these goals and objectives through functional assessment, one-to-one direct instruction, district/classroom consultation, and parent/caregiver training.


Specifically, The Goals of CBS Are:  
  • To provide applied behavior analytic services designed to meet the needs of individuals with developmental disabilities, their primary caregivers, educators, or mediators.
  • To analyze the current system and determine its strengths and weaknesses, as well as recommending plans on improving system.
  • To perform functional assessments and use positive programming in the design and implementation of interventions.
  • To provide training to the primary caregivers, educators, or mediators of the individuals with developmental disabilities. This training will ensure the generalization and maintenance of skills that will enable the individual to live and remain in the least restrictive environment.
  • To train and supervise staff to implement and disseminate behavior analysis.
 
Programming Goals  
  • Improve district or county programs providing services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • Develop competency based training for teachers and paraeducators.
  • Answer research questions related to developmental disabilities with the data collected within the programs that CBS, Inc provides.
  • Improved parent/mediator and client relationships.
 
Anticipated Client Outcomes  

As a participant in CBS, an individual can anticipate the following outcomes:

  • Improved district and county programs measured by the competency based training of teachers and paraeducators.
  • Improved data collection systems for use within the classroom setting.
  • Individualized classrooms trained to tailor programs and behaviors plans based on child’s current functioning.
  • Develop assessment tool and scale to evaluate effectiveness of consultation and training criteria and outcomes. The assessment tool will be based on the classroom as a whole.
  • The parents, teachers, and paraeducators will be satisfied with the services as indicated by quarterly satisfaction surveys.
  • Students will be able to live and learn in the least restrictive environment, improved functional and developmental skills across home, school, and community.
  • Increase academic and functional living skills and decrease problem behaviors.
 
CENTER FOR BEHAVIORAL SCIENCES, INCORPORATED: Orange County, California – Making a positive impact on the lives of individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities using data driven applied behavior analysis. We provide early intensive intervention programs for infants and young children, school and home based services, district/classroom-wide services, and behavior management workshops.

Junelyn Lazo and Joyce Tu are the directors of a nonpublic agency that provides services to infants and kids with a diagnosis ranging from ADHD, asperger's, autism, and/or mental retardation. The Center for Behavioral Sciences receives funding from regional centers and school districts. CBS conducts functional assessments to develop interventions. ABA is the primary mode of treatment. We offer employment opportunities with an on the job training program. The Center for Behavioral Sciences can diagnose and assess Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Asperger Syndrome, or other pervasive developmental disorders. The Center for Behavioral Sciences can provide special education, treatments and therapies for an autistic infant or child. Placentia, Rancho Santa Margarita, San Clemente, San Juan Capistrano, Santa Ana, Seal Beach, Stanton, Tustin, Villa Park and Westminster.
